This Officer died leaving his widow in a very destitute condition. He had been in service eleven years, and would in a few weeks' time have probably received about $1000 Gratuity in lieu of his pension. Under these circumstances, Member of Council concurring, a gratuity of three months' salary amounting to $300 is recommended to be given to Mrs. D'Arradas. A copy of the Naval Storemaster General's letter forwarding Mr. D'Arradas' claim is enclosed.
